Something About Me Monday

I Love Pro Football!

From September to February on any given Sunday, Monday, Thursday or Saturday you can find me in front of the tv watching a game. I just love it! It is a game of smarts and strengths, flair and finesse. It's great!

Teams I love to watch:

Chicago Bears ( of course) - maybe this year they have a quarterback!
Pittsburgh Steelers - they have it all, brains and brawn. But I miss Coach Cowher and The Bus!
Greenbay Packers - although they are a Division rival Favre was the best (he should have bowed out gracefully) but Aaron Rodgers looks to be coming along strong.
Indianapolis Colts and New York Giants - gotta love the Manning brothers!
Philadelphia Eagles - McNabb is a hometown boy from the south suburbs and a truely great quarterback. But they have slipped a notch in my book with the hiring of Michael Vick.

Teams I will always root against:

Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints - don't ask me why, it's nothing personal except with Minnesota (division rivals again). There are just some teams I can't warm up to and always root for the opponent.

Teams I think are overrated:

Dallas Cowboys - why are THEY America's team????
Tennessee Titans - Jeff Fisher got his start in Chicago during it's heyday but I just don't see it.

There are a lot of teams out there any one has the potential to be good, well there is Detroit. If you too are a fan I hope I haven't offended and that you will take this all in good fun.

Here's wishing all the teams good luck and good health this season!

Let the Games Begin!

Something About Me Monday

Sunday, July 20, 1969 - "The Eagle has landed"

I know exactly where I was this day, down the street at my cousin's house. They had 1) a big 4ft above ground swimming pool and 2) a big console color tv.

I remember my Uncle Johnny calling us all in to see the landing. Later that night we watched Neil Armstrong take that first incredible step on the moon. What a day!

Something About Me Monday

Green

I am very drawn to the color green.

That could be why I have 30 green tops hanging in my closet. At least they are evenly divided between 15 tanks and tees, and 15 long sleeved blouses and sweaters. My favorite greens are apple green, lime and sage......hmmmm all based on foods!

My eyes are a bluish-green.

All of the walls in my house are green.

My Jeep is green.

My RV is green.

My engagement ring is a Tsavorite Garnet (this is a real garnet not created or heat-treated) , which is green.

I love the tree frogs in my yard, which are green.

Green is said to be very calming.

I must need a lot of green!

Something About Me Monday

I can not float!

No matter how hard I try, no matter how many people have tried to help me, I just can not float.

I am not a good or strong swimmer but if my kayak capsized I'd make it to land (of course, I always wear a vest, but if I didn't I'd still make if just by sheer determination).

The Husband has tried to help me float by holding me up and stuff, but the minute he steps away, down go the feet and then the rest of me. I am not really comfortable in the water so this could be the problem. But it is kind of a catch-22. If I was more comfortable in the water maybe I could float, if I could float I would be more comfortable in the water.

Something About Me Monday

Not that I am that interesting or lead a jam-packed fun-filled life but I am interested in knowing my fellow bloggers and thought they might be interested in knowing me. Not detailed, in-depth soul-searching stuff but just some basic or fun facts and interesting little tidbits.

Just the Facts, Ma'am...............

I am the 5th in a series of 6 children. I have 3 older brothers, 1 older sister and 1 younger brother.

I was raised in a small community on the far southeast side of Chicago.

I am a second generation American of Polish ancestry, maybe with a little German thrown in the mix somewhere.

I am in my early 50's.

Both of my parents are deceased.

I have been married to The Husband for 26 years.

Stay tuned............................
