What's On My Sewing Table

I'm making The Husband a new throw quilt for his recliner. His current one was made in 1995 and has seen MUCH better days. Here is a little preview of one of the quilt blocks......

It's a pattern called 'Boxers or ???'. I've made them for almost all of my brothers and they are fun to make. It's fun to find novelty fabrics that showcase their interests and such. I always put in a Christmas pair and patriotic pair. The Husband wears mostly Hawaiian style shirts and must have 50 of them. I'm sure he would love these beauties.

I've finished all the blocks and starting to put the rows together. His birthday is next month so I should have plenty of time to quilt it.

This is what's on my sewing table!

BIrthday Dinner

The Husband really spoils me. Check out the dinner he made for my birthday last night.

First course - Shrimp Scampi

Second course - Mixed green salad with pear, strawberry and candied pecans.

Main course - Filet with blue cheese sauce, Maine lobster tail with drawn butter, garlic 'smashed' potatoes and creamed spinach. Washed down with a fine Argentian Malbec. It was everything I asked for and delicious to boot!

It was a great birthday!

Day Off

I took the day off, we dropped Louie at daycare and headed over to Pensacola.

On the way we saw these paratroopers training at Hurlburt Field on Eglin AFB.

Dowtown Pensacola

A street singer's dog outside the wine bar where we had lunch.

Roast duck, brie and dried cherry flatbread .....yum.

Mike' s cheese plate.....equally yum.

Me!

One of the beautiful historic buildings in Pensacola, now a museum.

Pensacola Bay, taken in a moving car from my iPad......not bad.

We really had a good time. I was very bummed earlier in the day but this little day trip really lightened my mood.

Bibimbop

No it's not a 50's dance.....it's a Korean dish. And a mighty tasty one at that! The Husband made it for dinner tonight. That and a cold beer.....delightful!
